Kristina has been a registered behavior technician since May 2018.  She has worked with children since 2009 as a soccer coach, childcare worker, nanny, and preschool teacher.  Kristina received her B.A. from the University of Virginia in 2015 with a double major in Psychology and Women, Gender, & Sexuality studies.  Kristina has always been passionate about the field of psychology and behavior.  While in college, she interned at a child advocacy center, which sparked her interest in child psychology.  Kristina plans to get her master's degree in the field of psychology in the future.  She is excited to be working for Effective Interventions because of their passion for individualized programs and continued learning opportunities in the field of ABA.

Breanna has a Bachelor’s Degree in Human Development and Family Studies from The Pennsylvania State University. She has been working with children since she was 13 years old. Breanna has worked as a Reunification counselor as well as a Lead Teacher in a daycare. Breanna has always had a passion to work with children and admired the work her mother did as an aide to children with special needs. She received her Registered Behavior Technician in May 2018 and began working at Effective Interventions. Breanna loves working with children every day and seeing them achieve their goals. She is excited to be a part of the amazing team at Effective Interventions because of the one on one care and individual plans for children!

Monique Baker MA, BCBA

​Monique has been working in the field of Behavior Analysis for over fifteen years. She discovered her passion for working with children with autism her first year of college when she became a behavior technician for a young child with autism.  She finished her undergraduate work, earning a B.S. in Early Childhood Special Education from Central Missouri University.  Monique went on to earn her Master's in Applied Behavior Analysis with an emphasis in Autism.  She also believes in the importance of early detection and early intervention.  She worked for many years as a developmental therapist serving children with different needs and diagnoses in the birth-3 age group. Monique's belief in high quality, individualized programs led her to help create this company in order to bring these services to her local community. 

Colleen began working with individuals with autism in 2008 while attending East Carolina University for her degree in Special Education. After completing her bachelor’s degree, she was a teacher for 3 years in a Special Education classroom for grades K-5. While teaching she obtained her master’s degree from ECU in Special Education with an emphasis in Intellectual Disabilities. After leaving the classroom Colleen was an autism services coordinator, which gave her a wide range of experience with children and adults with autism. Colleen has a passion for helping individuals increase communication skills and overall independence to help them meet goals of social significance, which led her to pursue a graduate certificate in ABA from Florida Institute of Technology which was completed in June 2019.

Kat completed her undergraduate and graduate training at the University of North Carolina at Wilmington in psychology.  She became interested in helping children with autism following a relative’s diagnosis.  After completing an internship at a school for children with autism Kat received her certification as both a Board Certified Behavior Analyst as well as a Licensed Psychological Associate.  Kat has worked with people with developmental disabilities ranging from 2-27 years in a variety of settings.  She is excited to be a part of the Effective Interventions team.

Sara is an owner as well as behavior consultant at Effective Interventions. Sara began working in the field of Behavior Analysis in 2008, implementing individualized programs for students at a school for children with Autism. After seeing the effectiveness of ABA Sara received her initial ABA training through Florida Institute of Technology and her Master's in Applied Behavior Analysis through Ball State University. Sara has worked as a consultant developing and implementing interventions since 2012. Sara received the Technical Utilization Award from the North Carolina Association for Behavior Analysis in 2013. Sara helped create Effective Interventions to increase access to effective treatment through parent involvement and training. 

OUR TEAM


Amanda Boling graduated from Mississippi State University in December of 2012 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Human Development and Family Studies. She has been working in the field of Applied Behavior Analysis(ABA) since 2013. She became a Registered Behavior Technician in July of 2015.  Amanda first started working in the field of ABA as a Behavior Specialist working in different school districts across north Mississippi. This is when she realized her passion for working with individuals with developmental disabilities and Autism. Before coming to work for Effective Interventions, Amanda worked in an ABA based school and clinic teaching functional communication using The Pyramid Approach to Education model. Last summer , She was able to attend the PECS Level 1 training in Richmond, VA. This is where Amanda found her passion for functional communication and desire to help all people of all abilities learn to communicate functionally.  Amanda loves kids and has worked with kids since she was 15 years old. Amanda wants to continue to grow and learn in the field of ABA.  She plans to start her coursework in January, 2020 to one day become a Board Certified Behavior Analyst.

Harlie completed a bachelor’s degree in Health Care Administration with an emphasis in Public Health from Mary Baldwin College located in Staunton, Virginia. She completed an internship at Augusta Health Hospital under Mary Mannix, President, and Dr. Crabtree to learn and observe leadership skills, health care operations, and customer service. Following graduation, she became a Nationally Licensed Nursing Home Administrator and began traveling throughout the United States providing patient-centered care in long term care Nursing Homes, Assisted Livings, Memory Units, and Acute Care Rehabs. Joining the Effective Interventions team in March 2019, she is excited to bring her knowledge and passion for quality healthcare services to those on the Autism spectrum. 

Amanda Boling

Laurel first started working with children and individuals with disabilities in 2014 while in Wilmington, NC. She graduated from the University of North Carolina Wilmington with a B.A in Recreation Therapy and Psychology and was passionate about improving independence and overall well-being for all individuals. Laurel was working as a Recreational Therapist when she discovered the field of Applied Behavior Analysis and how she could combine her current skills with new ways to bring about a meaningful and positive behavior change. After moving to Southern Pines, she discovered Effective Interventions in May 2018 and is currently pursuing her Master’s degree in Applied Behavior Analysis with an emphasis in Autism from Ball State University. She is always striving to contribute to the team effectively, learn from the children, and assist them in excelling in all settings through highly motivating environments.

Jessica Day

Kaitlyn first began working with children and adults with special needs in 2010, and quickly discovered her passion for working with individuals with autism. She completed her Bachelors in Education from Concordia Texas in 2015 and taught in the classroom for 3 years. Kaitlyn hopes to begin working on her masters in the near future and to further her career in special education with a focus on autism. She is excited to be apart of the Effective Interventions team and to help support children so they can excel in all environments and achieve their goals.

Emily graduated in 2014 from Indiana State University with a Bachelor's of Science in Psychology and Social Welfare. After completing her mentorship with Big Brothers Big Sisters she knew her calling was to help children and families. From there she continued to work closely within the community for Big Brothers Big Sisters in both Indiana and Wisconsin. She has previously worked with children ages 5-18 in a variety of settings including school, home, and community. Emily is looking forward to completing her Master's degree in Psychology as well as continuing to develop a close relationship with community here in the Sandhills area.

​Christy has worked with children for over ten years and has a background in medical office administration. She knew at a young age that her passion was working with children and especially children with developmental disabilities; pushing her to pursue a career in a pediatric therapy related field.  Christy earned a BS degree in Psychology in December 2015. Christy has been a Registered Behavior Technician since November 2015. Christy plans to further her education and obtain a Master’s degree in the near future. Christy is excited to continue to learn about and implement effective ways to help each child succeed in a way that meets their unique needs and personality. ​

Ashley is a Board Certified Behavior Analyst and has been working in the field for six years. Ashley has a bachelor's degree in elementary education with concentrations in reading and early childhood and has a minor in psychology from Graceland University in Lamoni, Iowa. Ashley began her career teaching kindergarten in the public school setting. In her first year of teaching, Ashley discovered her passion for working with children with Autism.  After learning how ABA could help individuals with autism she completed her master's degree in behavior analysis and therapy from Southern Illinois University in Carbondale, Illinois.  Ashley previously worked with children between the ages of 18 months and 19 years in a center-based setting in Ohio. Ashley moved to North Carolina and joined Effective Interventions’ team in February 2016. Ashley believes strongly in early intervention and using a team approach. 

Erika earned her bachelor’s and master’s degree in psychology with an emphasis in applied behavior analysis from the University of North Carolina Wilmington in 2015 and 2018, respectively. She originally discovered her interest in behavior analysis after taking a basic learning and behavior change course in 2013, and knew she wanted to apply those skills in her work with individuals with developmental disabilities. Over the course of her academic career, she has worked with children with developmental disabilities in clinic, community, and home settings and has completed an internship using behavior-analytic principles to treat children with pediatric feeding disorders. She has recently completed all of her course requirements and hours and is now a Board Certified Behavior Analyst. Erika is very excited to be a part of the Effective Interventions team!

Kristi is a BCBA who has been working in the field of behavior analysis for six years. She obtained her bachelor's degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in Exercise & Sport Science and Psychology. Following her work as a behavior technician, she went on to earn her Master's in Applied Behavior Analysis and Autism from Sage Colleges. In addition to developing and implementing individualized programs for children and adolescents with autism, she also has experience with teacher training and school consultation. Kristi's belief in the dissemination of ABA led her to become an active board member for the North Carolina Association for Behavior Analysis. She joined Effective Interventions in September 2017 and believes in working collaboratively with team members and parents to provide effective, individualized treatment.

Jennifer completed her Bachelor of Social Science degree from East Tennessee State University in 2004. Jennifer began working with children in a daycare setting in 2006 after leaving the Advertising industry. Jennifer volunteered with the Army’s Exceptional Family Member Program (EFMP) program while living in Fort Gordon, GA in 2010 which led to her working as a respite care provider with a family whose child had been diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder. Through this Jennifer found her passion working with children who had been diagnosed with autism spectrum disorders. Jennifer began working as a Registered Behavior Technician in 2016 here in North Carolina. Jennifer is currently working towards obtaining her certification as a Board Certified Assistant Behavior Analyst. Jennifer’s future education goals include obtaining her Master’s degree in Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA). Jennifer is very excited to be part of the Effective Interventions team and looks forward to pursuing her continuing education in Behavior Analysis.


Kelly is a Board Certified Behavior Analyst who has been working with individuals with autism since 2010. She completed her degree in Psychology from East Carolina University and her Master’s at Ball State in Applied Behavior Analysis. Kelly started working in the field of behavior analysis as a direct therapist with children with autism in the home setting, and eventually went on to consult in over 30 schools across North Carolina. During this time, she worked closely with special education teachers, other professionals included in a child’s IEP team, and parents to implement evidence -based practices in the classroom and create meaningful behavior intervention plans. Kelly has worked with children ranging from 15 months to 16 years of age and has supervised and trained other behavioral therapists with all experience levels across the continuum of home, clinic, and school settings.  Kelly has a deep commitment to finding creative solutions and making ABA accessible and enjoyable for the families and employees she serves. She is thrilled to be working with the Effective Interventions team!

Breana began working with children in 2011 and specifically with children who have autism in 2012 and immediately knew she found her niche.  She graduated from the College of William and Mary in 2014 with a B.S. in Psychology and Linguistics and became a Registered Behavior Technician in November 2015. Breana found her passion at Effective Interventions, using ABA to improve children’s communicative, social and adaptive skills. She completed her Master’s in Professional Behavior Analysis at Florida Institute of Technology in 2018. Breana values the individuality of every child and the importance of teamwork with the child’s family and other care providers.  Breana loves to work at Effective Interventions and share their mission of using evidence-based, individualized plans and appropriate personalized motivators to facilitate growth and progress with every child across all environments.

 Leigh Ann is originally from Birmingham, AL and received her degrees (B.A. and M.S.) from Auburn University. Her graduate training is in the area of Applied Behavior Analysis and Leigh Ann has been a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) since 2004. Leigh Ann began working with children diagnosed with autism spectrum disorders in 2002 as a volunteer in Auburn University’s Developmental Disabilities Clinic. This experience provided exposure to teaching children with autism using techniques based on the principles of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) and ultimately guided her career path.Leigh Ann has since worked in a variety of settings utilizing the principles of applied behavior analysis as well as working as the Exceptional Family Member Program (EFMP) Manager for the Vicenza Military Community in Vicenza, Italy. Leigh Ann is actively involved in professional organizations and strives to continue her education and professional growth and she is currently serving as Secretary of the North Carolina Association for Behavior Analysis (NCABA).

Jess completed her Bachelors Degree in Human Development and Family Studies with a minor in Psychology in 2014 from University of Missouri. Jess has been working with children as an early childhood educator and Child Life Specialist since 2009. Jess discovered a true passion for finding new ways to support children in reaching their goals. Serving children with autism and their families has quickly become something so fulfilling for her. Finding what each child is individually motivated for, as well as seeing them master new skills is what I love about ABA. Outside of work, Jess enjoys spending time outdoors, traveling, and relaxing with the people she loves and something new on Netflix. Jess has been with Effective Interventions since February 2018 and loves the constant support and passion all of her co-workers have for the amazing children and families we serve.
