What is ABA?

Behavior Analysis is the scientific study of behavior. Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) is a scientific problem-solving approach that uses principals and techniques derived from behavior analysis to change socially significant behaviors to a meaningful degree.

Several thousand scientific research studies have documented the effectiveness of ABA across:

  • Populations (children, adults, individuals with autism, typically developing individuals)
  • Settings (home, school, community, hospital, business)
  • Providers (parents, teachers, direct care staff)
  • Behaviors (communication, social skills, academics, aggression, self injury, healthy eating, exercise)

There are several thousand research studies demonstrating the success of applied behavior analysis (ABA) and it is the most effective methodology for helping children with autism as noted by the US Surgeon General.
